Meet The Staff: Aubrey Hardison
Through a generous grant from Baptist Healing Trust, The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation has added a vital resource to the Foundation staff: dietitian. Aubrey Hardison, a registered and licensed oncology dietitian, has filled that role with passionate verve for her calling. Aubrey works on a patient-to-patient basis, counseling individuals in specific nutritional practices to combat dietary problems associated with cancer and its treatment.
Aubrey, a native of Murfreesboro, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Sciences in 2000. Having completed a dietetics internship at the University of Alabama – Birmingham, she went on to garner five years of registered dietitian experience at Princeton Baptist Medical Center and earn hours toward a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Education.
In 2006, following a storybook encounter with her high school best friend Alan at a Riverdale ten-year reunion, Aubrey and her smitten heart relocated to the Nashville area. She joined The Foundation because of the personal interaction that her work requires. “Because of hospital time constraints, there is only so much time to spend with each individual. I love talking with patients and providing the most up-to-date information available, helping them modify their diets during and after treatment,” says Aubrey.
Aubrey cherishes every opportunity to contribute to The Foundation’s mission, truly valuing the staff’s dedication and the benefit her work provides. Aubrey enjoys a daily exercise regimen, a bountiful knowledge of culinary/wine arts and spending quality time with her loved ones. It would be remiss not to mention that Aubrey’s father named her after a poignant 1970’s ballad (yes, by pop band Bread) and instilled an unwavering devotion to Auburn Tiger football.
