The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation has been supporting cancer research and contributing to the work of medical oncologists in Middle Tennessee and throughout the country since 2002 through The Minnie Pearl Cancer Research Network. The Foundation annually directs funds to affiliate oncology groups within the Network to strengthen their development. Increased cancer research, clinical trials, and clinical care allow this network of hundreds of oncologists to improve their research, data collection/management, and patient accrual to clinical trials. Such critical strides in research allow patients to stay close to home and receive the latest treatment, enhancing the quality of their care as well as the rate at which researchers make new scientific discoveries in the fight against cancer. Although a cancer diagnosis has a devastating impact, The Foundation embraces the hope that research advancements bring.
